The Mercodia IAPP ELISA is a two-site sandwich immunoassay using monoclonal antibodies targeting distinct epitopes on IAPP. The assay detects mature IAPP and has also demonstrated detection of the processing intermediate proIAPP(1-48), supporting a broader assessment of circulating IAPP. Further characterization may help clarify the relative reactivity of this and other proIAPP intermediates.
The assay is analytically characterized for exploratory research use and uses chemiluminescent detection. It requires only 50 µL of plasma sample and has an assay range of 0.412–100 pM, with a limit of detection of 0.197 pM.
