Words from the Product Manager
Miguel Sainz, Product Manager and Medical Science Liaison at Mercodia, shares his thoughts on the development of the MBeads Assay.
In a world that is changing and moving forward we need to keep the pace. Research nowadays requires the measurement of multiple analytes in limited volumes. That is why at Mercodia we have decided to create a new product that could help researchers get the most out of their valuable samples.
“We decided to create a new product that could help researchers get the most out of their valuable samples”
We developed the Total Insulin MBeads Assay based on the idea of reaching a broader detection range, allowing the measurement of higher concentrations of insulin and avoiding samples dilutions.
For this, we use surface activated magnetic agarose beads coupled to our high-quality antibodies, allowing us to increase the detection surface of the assay which is moreover enhanced by the higher sensitivity of chemiluminescence.
Northern Lights® is the name of our product line for chemiluminescent detection. This sensitive detection platform makes it possible to push the measuring range to different concentrations, allowing the detection of lower and higher concentrations, avoiding dilution of perifusion samples and reducing the dilutions required for conditioned media at extremely high concentrations.
“Having a tool that works for all samples would save time and money”
We know that there are always factors that can increase errors during analysis, so we have created a tool that offers higher sensitivity and reproducibility in non-diluted samples. This also leads to saving time.
Apart from this, we know that many scientists have multiple samples from different species, so having a tool that works for all samples would save time and money.
Thank you, Miguel and the project team for an amazing achievement! 🖤
