From 1 November 2026, Mercodia will introduce separate In Vitro Diagnostic (IVD) and Research Use Only (RUO) product versions.
The Mercodia IVD and RUO product labeling update will provide greater clarity regarding the regulatory status of products in different markets and make it easier to identify the appropriate product version.
What is changing?
Existing IVD products will retain their current article numbers, while corresponding RUO versions will receive new article numbers.
The two versions will be distinguished by their product labeling, regulatory status and article number. Product availability and regulatory status may differ between markets.
The product remains unchanged
The IVD and RUO versions are manufactured using the same materials, manufacturing processes, quality controls and product specifications.
Product quality and analytical performance remain unchanged.
