Update to Mercodia IVD and RUO
product labeling
As of 1 November 2026, Mercodia offers separate In Vitro Diagnostic (IVD) and Research Use Only (RUO) product versions.
This update provides greater clarity regarding the regulatory status of Mercodia products in different markets and helps customers and distributors identify the appropriate product version.
What has changed?
Selected Mercodia products are now available as separate IVD and RUO versions. Existing IVD products have retained their current article numbers. The corresponding RUO versions have been assigned new article numbers.
For example:
- IVD version: 10-1271-01
- RUO version: 10-1271-03
The two versions will be distinguished by their product labeling, regulatory status and article number.
The product remains unchanged
The introduction of separate IVD and RUO versions does not affect the product itself.
The IVD and RUO versions are manufactured using the same:
- Materials
- Manufacturing processes
- Quality controls
- Product specifications
The update does not affect product quality or analytical performance. The differences between the versions are limited to product labeling, regulatory status and article number.
