Mercodia announces the launch of the Mercodia Metabolic Research Award, an international initiative recognizing outstanding and innovative contributions within metabolic disease research.

With more than 35 years of experience supporting the global life science community, Mercodia continues to invest in advancing scientific understanding in fields such as diabetes, obesity and metabolic liver disease. The new award reflects this commitment by highlighting research that contributes to improved understanding of disease mechanisms as well as clinical and translational progress.

The Mercodia Metabolic Research Award is designed to support emerging researchers, including postdoctoral fellows and early career scientists. The award recognizes outstanding and innovative contributions to metabolic disease research spanning basic to clinical studies focused on hormone regulation.
Applications and nominations are now open and will be evaluated by an independent international committee of experts in metabolic research.
€50,000 award recognizing scientific excellence
The award grants €50,000 in research funding to one recipient and recognizes research of high scientific quality, originality and relevance.
Eligible research spans key areas within metabolic disease, including diabetes, obesity, MASLD and MASH, as well as related metabolic disorders.
By highlighting research that advances understanding of metabolic disorders and their diagnosis, treatment, and prevention, the award contributes to progress in a field of significant clinical and societal importance.
The first recipient of the Mercodia Metabolic Research Award will be announced in 2027.
